rear beam axles

ok so i guess my back right beam axle is slightly bent he said it was fine to ride on ill just have to change tht tire a little more often. but i was wondering how much are they where can i get them and how hard is it to install.

exiged 06-16-2009 12:39 AM

Very easy to install. for a 5 lug, probably $8-900. Whats funny is that the 4 lug one is more expensive lol.

prvdoughnut 06-16-2009 02:20 AM

seriously? 900 bucks and what if i dont fix it?

NWAE Cobalt 06-16-2009 02:26 AM

mels was bent from an accident and it cost 1500 to fix at a shop (4 lug)

YelloEye 06-16-2009 02:39 AM

Snag one off a front end accident at a junk yard, shouldnt be too much.

http://car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi think any of those would do it?

YelloEye 06-16-2009 03:20 AM

Thats a link to a search page.....

prvdoughnut 06-16-2009 03:22 AM

sry wont let me post the right link but car-parts.com has tht beam for 400-500 is it correct?

exiged 06-16-2009 01:29 PM

seriously its easy dont pay a shop for it its like 5 bolts thats it. Just make sure you tighten it wouldn't want that to fall off on the highway lol.

Another note on this, if you decide to just drive around as is your traction will suffer. Depending on how bad the bend is, it could be like driving on a spare.

blackbolt89 06-16-2009 04:52 PM

how the hell did you manage to bend your torsion beam?

wtf were you doing.

me and my friend jacked up my car by the beam to do my spring install and that shit didnt even bend. lol.

exiged 06-17-2009 01:16 PM

the only way that shits gonna bend is if you smack it with a curb at 35mph like i did lol. . .
