So I have a short throw shifter installed on my 2006 SS/NA. The shifter can wobble left to right when in gear. I tried installing the stock shifter today and it still wobbled. Any ideas to what is causing this?

 

Roll pin possibly. That's been my problem 3 times now.

A tiny metal pin that connects the shifter to the transmission IIRC.

does the play mean front to back?? mines just started doing it. its like when its in gear you can pull the shifter back but its still in gear
