I told the guy to hold the traction control to turn the ESC off, but that did not happen because it was on and so was the ABS light when he got it off the dyno, plus the second run didn't even pull right.
It was misfiring and breaking up a bit before I dyno'd though, so I'm sure it has more in it...:r:
My best 1/4 mile is a 12.9 @ 111mph, but runs 13.0-13.2 consistently.

Forgive me I'm a dyno newb but sholdn't he of gave you a free pull because he obv screwed up the 2nd run?

Also nice tq numbers! And I love the all black look without the wing. Also what type of fuel you running.

Oh and a vid would've been sick.

THANKS MAN

he should have but he acted like he couldnt hear me, but for $45, it still was okay i guess, and they were super busy do to a car show it was at.

93 ctane shell gas btw...

alerosaint 03-02-2014 06:20 PM

Great numbers aaron

AARON-SS-TC 03-02-2014 07:54 PM

THANKS MAN, BUT I ACTUALLY WAS UNHAPPY WITH IT, BUT IT HASNT BEEN RUNNING VERY WELL FOR A WHILE AND I CANT FIGURE OUT WHY...

Wish my balt made 300+

AARON-SS-TC 03-02-2014 08:13 PM

Im bored with it, even like a few months after it was tuned , especially since the powerband is so small.
Wish i had 450-500whp and a bigger powerband in my 2900lb car, now that would be fun. Ha

Tsbbzm 03-02-2014 08:25 PM

That is true. My brother just got a tc with around 270 or so and when I drove it I wasn't that impressed. It only really pulled hard for a couple of seconds.

But yes 450 would be a monster lol

317/384 is not shabby in the least my friend. That's pretty on par for a stock turbo 93 octane setup at your boost level so I wouldn't be upset in the least with that. Just so you're aware, the ABS light ALWAYS comes on for a LNF on the dyno even with ESC completely off. Just think of it, the ABS system is sensing that the car is traveling 50-100mph from the front what the wheel speed sensors are reporting, yet the rear wheels are reporting a big fat goose egg to the system. It just makes the system sort of go into a tizzy and light up your dash a bit. It doesn't effect anything as far as power output goes though. You would however know pretty much right away if your traction control indeed was not off. You would have had a pretty tough time breaking 250whp even with a badass tune. Ask me how I know.. lol

This. Also, I mentioned in the 2013 Dyno thread, but the guy obviously had a bad signal explaining the haywire graph, but the numbers should be about right. Not sure, but at those conditions, SAE numbers may have been higher then STD.

taintedred07 03-03-2014 03:54 AM

Gotta remove the ABS fuse

bmartz1991 03-03-2014 07:20 AM

Nice numbers.

Thanks for the replies
well my torque graph did not even show up, and my hp graph is all jumpy, any answers for that????

alerosaint 03-03-2014 09:58 AM

How to get a good signal...When I dyno'd in the past the graph was wonky

looked like my grap and I have almost the same tune.

AARON-SS-TC 03-03-2014 11:47 AM

Except you have 30-40wtq more than me, damn...lol

maybe catless and exhaust would help with both hp and torque 8-10...

Well, hopefully i can either sell my k04, or make it a k04-r and put down better numbers and powerband.

I WAS THINKING i HAVE EITHER A BOOST OR VAC LEAK DO TO MY MISFIRES AND JUMPY BOOST GAUGE.

user 72239 03-03-2014 11:52 AM

did it jump in 4th?

Mine seems to do weird shit in 4th gear pulls. like the gauge will hit 20 psi, and then it will freak the fuck out spasming between 20 and 25.

AARON-SS-TC 03-03-2014 12:29 PM

Mine idles bad off and on, and it hates 4th gear, it jumpy as im driving.

They dynoed me in 4th gear too.

Hell, it only put 260whp down in the second pull, haha

It seems to be different for everyone.

Dynocom's are notoriously high reading just so you know. Plus you can't compare one set of dyno numbers to the next. It's only relative and comperable if you were both using the same dyno in the same conditions. Even correction factors aren't perfect. Other than that it's a pretty good crap shoot

Should we be dyno'd in 4th or 3rd?

AARON-SS-TC 03-04-2014 11:37 AM

They are both about the same distance away from a perfect 1.0, but ive noticed higher torque numbers in 3rd gear on some cars vs 4th gear pulls.
Mine was done in 4th btw.

Hopefully I can figure out why my car drives like crap, and maybe do a k04-r if I dont sell my k04 kit I have, then put down some higher, solid numbers and graph.

09CobaltSS1 03-04-2014 12:19 PM

It doesn't really matter all too much which gear you use. On some dynos 4th gear does net more power though especially with a larger turbo. The taller gear loads the turbo more which creates more heat which ultimately produces a bit more power at the wheels. This is a fact regardless of what the kiddies want to tell you. The k04 does tend to surge a bit in 4th if you're not careful though.

AARON-SS-TC 03-04-2014 04:20 PM

my car surges often anyways....lol

taintedred07 03-04-2014 04:58 PM

Pull the abs fuse next time you dyno
