Closest 1:1 Ratio On The Dyno?

I'm heading off the the dyno tomorrow and have read a few different opinions on the closest 1:1 ratio on the dyno for an F35 transmission. 3rd or 4th?

3rd gear ratio: 1.18:1

4th gear ratio: 0.89:1

I guess it's really your call.

I'd probably do fourth...

I can only hope that I just read what was probably the lamest joke ever posted here...

F35/Cobalt-LSJ & F35/HHR-SS: RPO "MC2"

FDR: 4.05
1st gear = 3.38:1
2nd gear = 1.76:1
3rd gear = 1.18:1
4th gear = 0.89:1
5th gear = 0.70:1
Reverse = 3.17:1

F35/Cobalt-LNF: RPO "MU3"

FDR: 3.82
1st gear = 3.38:1
2nd gear = 1.76:1
3rd gear = 1.18:1
4th gear = 0.89:1
5th gear = 0.70:1
Reverse = 3.17:1

Since you want to choose a gear that puts your transmission in the 1:1 ratio (for every single engine revolution, you have one revolution of the drive wheels), you can probably choose either 3rd or fourth - imho, 4th is probably the best choice.

4th might be the closest but it's by .07 it will be much harder on the engine doing a 4th gear pull then a 3rd.. i would only do a 4th gear pull if you're dyno tuning.. for numbers purposes the difference between 3rd and 4th is only a couple of whp

Ya my tuner said with his experience dynoing he found 4th to load it up too much and was causing knock

its really depending on airflow and temp in the shop really.. but really theres very little difference in numbers so i wouldn't dyno in 4th
