It is, and I've always heard that the gains will depend on how much flow is affected based on how close the valve is to the combustion chamber walls... overboring helps that obviously.

Also, how long till you uncork the car by getting this all up to 3"?
3" - 2.5" Catless Mid Pipe | 2.25" Borla Catback

I don't see any reason to go larger on the exhaust piping.

There's no notable point of restriction on the graph.

Post 8192 RPM our fueling becomes very difficult to control without a more advanced PCM.

Also advance runs off the last cell as of 8192 RPM. So trying to extend the power curve further isn't possible within the limitations of HPtuners/LSJ PCM/valvetrain.
In laymans... I can't keep building advance post 8192 rpm.

I'm actually looking forward to tightening up the power curve a tad.
A 2.6 pulley should raise power across the entire powerband and peak sooner, allowing more control over all.

Yessir. Just ordered some new exhaust for it actually. The badmab had a warped downpipe flange and my flex pipe has a hole in it. I also suspect that the packing from my muffler is now just about completely gone (very loud). Finally got sick of it and just got a whole new system from header to catback. I've just been slowly chipping away at all the little corners that I had previously cut on the car just want to get it to 100%.

The cobalt has moved from weekend warrior to daily duty now. I also have a 2010 camaro ss with a tvs2300 which is more of the "racecar" now. Still have a ton of fun in the cobalt though. The surprise on peoples face never does get old lol.

Definitely, I still lurk pretty often just do not post too much. I enjoy keeping tabs on peoples builds and breakthroughs with the platform. Lately I have been getting the itch do something more serious with the cobalt to utilize the blower. That has remained one of my bigger regrets with the car. There is still time though!

Glad you are still holding down the forum staged! Couldn't have hand picked a better person to rep that H62

I do think you will pickup some torque by going to a larger exhaust.

I will have to figure something out for sure. It needs a ported head desperately.

For the most part I agree, even the decrease from 7000 to 8400rpm can be explained by a bunch of other factors (head flow, etc) besides the 2.25" catback.

If anything, being catless helps keep the exhaust temperatures a little lower, keeping exhaust volume a little lower than if you had a cat.

Sounds like a good plan, might as well make more power safely under ~8192.
Seeing 300ftlb by 3500rpm would be sweet!

Don't plan on going to far north of that

My K1s decided to snap in half on the 50 wet shot @ 7000 rpm.
