ldk rods too? hmmm.... that's promising. not that I plan to go that far, but nice to have a little peace of mind that if I get close to 400 I wont be on the ragged edge. and yes, I know... it's all in the tune (said like Chubbs from Happy Gilmore)

Just because it held on the dyno doesn't mean it'll hold forever. Be careful.

My fav turbo. I've tuned a guy with a Kappa who had a 67 sold him on the 71 and he loves it. I believe the 67 is obsolete especially for balts

Negative. For us road track/racing guys the 6758 is not only plenty of power, it is much more useful at the track due to less lag. Even if my 6758 turns out to be toast, I will not upgrade to a 71 but have mine rebuilt. Love that thing.

I have a customer that had the 67 switched straight over to the 71 and says it spools faster.

On their web site, ZZP states that the 6758 has the "same spool as stock".

I don't believe your customer either

And regardless, the 6758 is already more than I need so why go even bigger? There's just no point for me.

The spool on the 71 is very good not slow at all and on a balt where our trans is weak it is a way better choice for guys on stock of the 4.05 trans

I'm not knocking the 71 at all. I'm sure it's a great choice for many people. Better choice then the 67, even.
I'm just not one of them

If you have a built trans yes. You should also have Max stg2 cams not the 3s the 67 doesn't flow up there.

We should trade!!

Like Adrian said- the 58 is enough turbo for most people and capable of 450+whp. If our cars could rev to 8,500 then the 7163 would be the better choice. Most everyone boost ramps the 58 to slow it down, so I'm wondering if your customer's car was setup to do that and now maybe not as much is needed with the bigger turbo.

No it was a Kappa there was no ramp on either. I think it just pulled a bit harder making him think there was better spool. I was not in the car so I can not tell you. I am just sharing his thoughts

But you just repeated what I always say. Why buy a 67 just to ramp it??

QFE. That is a physical impossibility. Unless there was something wrong with your 67

Now there are 2 people who say it spools faster. The turbos are not exactly the same tho.

Tuned by me. No I did not change spool. Remember guys they use the same housing. With the 71 being bigger and requiring more machining than the 67 what is the final exhaust A/R

I want to get my 71 on she just sitting in the garage! But wouldn't the aluminium wheel in the 71 help with spool time?
