Aftermarket head unit install problem

I mentioned a year or so ago my daughter received my mom's 06 LS currently with 52K on the clock, bare bones except for cruise (aftermarket install back in 07).

For Christmas I gave her a new head unit (power acoustix pcd-52B) along with new speakers. Also plan to install power locks as well. Well started today getting the lock actuators installed along with the front speakers. Next was to be the head unit. I used a wiring kit and that was pretty much self explanatory, all of the colors matched. All that was left was the red wire that is supposed to go to an ignition source outside the radio wiring (why it's not part, no clue). I attached this to the yellow since that is supposed to be ignition. System powered up, but when I turned the ignition off, the system stayed on (yes, opened and closed drivers door). Tried to remove yellow wire from wiring kit, no power. Re-hooked up the yellow and ran red to inside fuse panel and tapped into #6, stated it was AMP figured it was ignition based. Used a piggy back to hook in. Radio fired up, but once again has to be turned off manually. Think the piggy back pops off when I put the dash back together, as I made the last smack to the last panel, radio lost power. Oh well, need it to turn off normally anyway.

Any tips on what I need to do here?

As is, it still sitting with all the door panels off as I didn't want to fight to get them off again, those window cranks are no fun......lol

sunroof or if that doesnt work wiper fuse.

stock HU runs off data to turn on and off not electrical current which is why aftermarket must get that power from somewhere else

Wiper fuse worked like a charm (no sunroof here). Only complaint is you have to have it in acc2 to listen to the radio. Oh well, kid will have to get used to that and limit doing it. Took a while to get the rear deck apart for the 6x9s, but they are in. System sound great and the front speakers were all but gone they were deteriorated so much, but still played. Now she has a better sounding system, along with BT, and aux port along with a USB and SD slot. Already ported her phone in and connected perfectly. Still having to learn the calls setup, as you have to use a remote for selecting numbers.

Will finish the locks another day.

Thanks for the help guys.

even without a sunroof that fuse should have power. i used it on my 06 and the beauty was i didn't have to worry about it blowing and preventing something else from not working since i didn't have a sunroof to begin with
