My girlfriend needs an amp for her jeep. She has a single Rockford R2sD2 2-ohm 12" specs below. Nothing fancy, she just needs some bump with her tunes.

I really know nothing about stereos, I'm just trying to matchup a new amp with this sub for under $100. Some advise on rather to wire it to 2 ohm or 4 would be great too.

being a dual 2 ohm you can wire the sub to 4 ohm or 1 ohm. so really any amp thats 250w rms at 4 ohm would work

Yeah, any 250 RMS amp should be fine. How you wire it really depends on the amp. The amps are rated for maximum wattage at different ohms, so whichever wiring allows you to pull the most power out of the amp you use is going to be best.

There is a really good write up HERE about how to properly adjust the gain on the amplifier. In the write up they say to use 75% for the volume but really if you want the most bump for your buck set the gain at whatever the MAX volume is that you will ever listen at. If that is 50%, than use 50%.
