How can i listen to my mp3 with stock radio??
I have an Ipod and a sandisk, is there any way to listen to either without using a crappy fm transmitter with the stock radio??

sorry... not gonna happen... no input jack.. no rca inputs... u'll need to use the FM transmitter............or headphones:lol:
|
i think there is a harness of some kind....it would be like a hard wired fm transmitter...but im not sure, so dont quote me on it

Just put the MP3s on a CD.

If you don't mind spending around $200 than you can do this. You can buy this JL Audio CleanSweep which after its wired and installed properly will give you an Aux. input. This being RCA cables. You can than if you decide to buy a RCA to 3.5mm cable which will give you a 3.55mm jack that you can plug into the headphones jack on your mp3 player. The CleanSweep comes with a remote and all you do is press the button and it switches between your regular stereo and the auxiliary input.. The Cleansweep also gives u the option if you later decide to add on an amplifier and subwoofer.
Target has the RCA cables for $19 but you can find it for a lot cheaper than that.. Google Product search has a lot of them for very cheap :) |
Ipod2car it's expensive though

I have an fm modulator that goes inline with the attenna cable that works just like the input jack on some of the headunits some of us have. I don't have that head unit I have an 06, it's works way better the then the fm transmitter that sends out the signal wirelessly cause this one is actually inline then wireless. I got mine for the crutchfield.com.

fm modulator works, theres also a unit that will turn your XM input into RCA in
|
buy some headphones.

Hi all,
I went to the dealers today to pick up my plates. I asked the service guy if you could have a stereo jack add on for the stock radio. He said yes. Chevy can put it in for 150 bucks. He told me they would add the jack to the stock stereo and have the cable run into the glove compartment. He said Car radio shops can add it on cheaper then Chevy could. So I am thinking... if you might be able to open the stock radio and find the jacks or find away to hook it up yourself. I don't want to pay 150 bones just for a piece of wire for a Mp3 player. That's crazy! |
there is no input on the stock deck Other then maybe the second missing connector. They will probably sell you a connector to plug into that with rcas on the other end. either way you would need that part. install it yourself
