video added - iPod and XM, factory controls, factory deck with Axxess control box

So I have my Axxess box connected to my factory deck and it works great. For anyone that wants factory XM and/or Factory iPod to their Factory deck then this is what you need

What I ordered was 1 Axxess box, 1 ipod connection cable, 1 XM direct box and GM2 harness cable (200.00). The box connected directly to your factory deck from the back and you then have 3 connectors for XM, iPod, AUX or all 3 if you want them.
Once you have everything connected you get 2 new bands XM1 and XM2, both are the same as FM1 and FM2 with is 6 presets each. After calling XM and getting the subscription it took about 45 minuets for all the channels to come in and it’s CD quality. I then connected the iPod I left it on XM1 and turned the power off the factory deck and waited 3 seconds then turned the deck back on and it then showed on the screen ipod connected and on the iPod it’s self it showed locked Axxess. I then was able to use the steering Wheel controls as well as the buttons on the factory deck to change tracks ect ect.

I will post a video soon showing how it works but I didn’t do a how to install as it was simply plug in and hide it in the dash, I placed the axxess box and the XM box under the cup holders behind the fuse box

Sounds expensive.. why not buy an aftermarket deck that has all that integrated in with better pre-outs for sound quality?

If you knew where i lived you wouldn't buy a deck or a alarm system. 200 is not bad for XM and ipod cables. and it sounds great.

I wouldn't want to, I like the look of the stock one myself. The aftermarket ones, well most anyway, have that space in between. Some just really look out of place.

Good to hear they work, I was going to order one of those myself. Is the sound quality, CD quality through the Ipod? the stupid FM transmitter is decent, but not great...lol

If your car does not have XM already do not use the Yellow and Green Wires, just tape them off. This should be a direct plug and play no wire cutting.

I have the GM Personal Audio Link and this Axxess sounds like it does the job better. Definitely post pics of the interface and maybe a vid of it in action.

i found their website...idk where to purchase them

www.axxessinterface.com

i don't like how you cant actually use your ipod to chang your music and you can only do it through the radio, its seems like a PIA to me, i would just get the aux input option from them rather than the ipod option

Anyone use this with an 06 ss/sc stereo? If so, how well does it work?
I'm not sure if your g5 gt has the same stereo as an ss/sc or not.

Thanks a bunch!

I just bought and installed this unit today. Went in like a snap, controls well, sounds crystal clear and i think I'm going to love it. My problem is that only plays audio on the right hand side. My left speakers only come on with the FM radio or CD.

What could I be doing wrong or what should I try reseating?

Sorry, It's an 06 Cobalt SS. Pioneer system with No Onstar and No Factory XM. I don't know why I didn't put this in my first reply.

Edited: I fixed the problem. First I called Axxess when they opened and Without any hesitation they shipped me a new harness. I thought that was cool of them. So seeing as the harness was definitely the problem I decided to check mine out

The harness going into the white axxess box had a few pins that were loose and not connected. Re-seated them in the harness and it works just fine now.

It actually sounds awesome. Ipod and XM controls very easily too. My one complaint was that while it does display the song artist or title, it doesn't seem to display those by default. Each time you skip to a new song on your ipod you have to hit the display button again if you want to see who it is.

I'd give it a 9/10

I don't have any pictures but it looks the same as a radio station that sends song info. You get the time, track number or XM channel on the top line and the artist, song or album on the bottom line.
