PAC SWI-PS steering wheel interface PROBLEM

I have a PAC SWI-PS and I have had it hooked up for 6 months now. It has worked great for 6 months but now I is getting buttons mixed up. I have reprogrammed it and it worked for a day then it messed up the buttons again. Any one else had this problem? I have it hooked up to a Pioneer AVH-P4000dvd if that helps. Do you think it just went bad??

could be the unit but might also be the install. How is it hooked up?

Well I added extra pins to my Metra harness. I then connected the green SWI-PS 's Green wire to Pin A9. I then connected pin A10 to the remote wire comming out of my deck. I hooked the red wire to the fuse box on ignition and grounded the black wire.

sorry what i meant was did you use butt connectors? wrapped the wire and taped? soldered the connections? ect

i would redo the install all straight soldered and see if it makes a difference.

I soldered alll of the connections. It just doen't make much sense to me why it worked so good then quit. I'am guessing the unit went bad.

possibly.. they are also very sensitive so if you have some sort of connection that isn't directly soldered on to the wire it could have caused it

make sure when you program them when you press the steering wheel buttons you hold in down for an extra 10 seconds after it blinks i have had some problems like that b4

also, start the car, then program it, cause sometimes the battery power is different enough from the operating alternator voltage that it miss-programs. (it remembers the resistance it sees with the button presses and if you only have 11 volts from the battery, but 14.2 from the alt, you will get a different reading with the resistance.)

I did program it with the car running. I did some checking and the PAC web sight says If you are using the SWI-PS on a Pioneer AVH series radio, the revision number of the SWI-PS MUST be 1.6.7 or higher to be compatible. What ever that means? Any one know?

Mine works ok. Every now and then it gets confused. I don't know what the problem is. It stops working right when it gets hot out.

Reprogram it at the n3w tempurature setting....
