speedometer bounces around at 75+
I recently did a engine swap/turbo swap and for the first time this weekend took my car above 60mph. I was driving down the highway and was doing about 75, I set the cruise and all of a sudden I would feel the engine randomly kick up and build boost like I was going up hill or resetting the cruize after slowing down. I just thought it was odd at first so I pulled over turned it off and turned it back on again then took off again.
I decided to test this out and drove 80 mph and all a sudden the speedometer needle as soon as it hits 75 just starts bouncing around between 75-85. I brought it up to about 90mph (guessed) and it was still bouncing around. Any speed 70 and below the speedo works fine anything 75+ and it goes haywire. Aeroforce gauge scan shows no codes other than the 2 I have with my turbo swap. By this I mean there is no speed sensor output codes being thrown. So on the way back I reached in behind the rottors in the front and squeezed the sensors to make sure I had clipped them in and started back up. I got up to 60mph and it starts bouncing all over again. I drove a while and it settled back down and only bounced around at 75+. Think my front sensors are going bad? Why would it just do it at 75+ and work fine all the way up to it? Cruise works perfect below 70 but anything higher and it freaks out. I have a video I can post to YouTube if you need reference. |
Sorry for the camera shake but if you watch the speedo needle it moves 10 or more mph in half a second and my RPMs don't change one bit.

Bump, anyone?
