Steering wheel control issue PAC Audio SWI-CP2
Hi all
Ive been trying to get the swi-cp2 steering wheel controls unit functioning. My #1 problem right now is that the unit will not even power on no matter how I hook it up. Has anyone else used one of these successfully? If so, do you remember what you did to get it working? Thanks! |
i have. they are a pain and super finicky. did you go to the website and look at vehicle specific instructions?

I wound up getting the Metra ASWC-1 last night and it works but the button mapping it came up with is wrong but the thing functions well enough for now. I’ll just memorize the new buttons. |
ah ok couldn't you just remap the buttons. probably over it since you've had so much hassle thus far though

The only issue with mapping is that you cannot change the volume up button through the manual process on the ASWC and because it is telling the head unit both are volume up I cannot manually map through that interface either.
eventually im gonna try a pac module. the first head unit i had in my cobalt didnt have a steering wheel input so i used an inferred steering wheel control from PAC and it worked flawless. |

i have the same problem with mine, now with both the 4 spoke and 3 spoke wheels. im able to get through the mapping process but in the end both volume up and volume down buttons are seen as volume up.

I am not alone! I have the volume down via source. So, I at least can control what I want via the wheel.
i did try programming volume down to another button and it worked then. i think what the problem is is the volume up and down buttons have a resistance value too close to each other, and the axxes module cant pick up a difference. i remember reading something at some point saying to try putting a resistor inline between the module and the input wire to correct it, but it didnt work for me. |
