Well out of us two, i think he has me beat. he has tons more money into his car than i do.

ive ran so many times now. It really comes down to how much money you have invested. Ive invested more of my time than money, my dad was a welder fabricator for many years, its in my blood so i did a lot of fabbing things myself instead of buying pretty off the shelf parts. However the pretty off the shelf parts is what people want to see.

 

yea true but that other guy has ALOT of custom **** on his car tho lol not all off the shelf parts

 

I do have alot of money invested, but alot of the parts I have are not straight off the shelf. I also put alot of time and money into my car and it shows. I wanted everything to function the way it should while still looking nice. This all didnt just happen overnight.

I dont understand what you mean when you said you dont have a lot of off the shelf parts. To me it looks like you do especially from looking at your mods list. All set aside, I like your car. Its nice to see another base that went turbo!

 

really? Don't be another person who bitches about not having a lot of money and thats why their car didnt win. Your on a cobalt site, almost everyone here doesnt have a lot of money to put into cars.

With that said, you have a neat turbo kit going, and the car looks pretty clean (paint your front lip maybe?) but maybe you just ran up against some really nice cars? Even if someone did put on all off the shelf parts, don't hate.

 

I didnt say i did everything myself or didnt have off the shelf parts. The downpipe, catback, injector harness, all the mounting brackets, ect i had to fab, when all the ss's can just go to zzp or ottp and order them. No one seems to appreciate that kind of stuff anymore.

That wasnt taking a shot at you. dont take that the wrong way i like your car, just about everything you have has been custom in some way shape or form. Im just saying in general unless you have and SS or you have $10k in paint or this or that. Why can the average joe with a nice looking 2.2 win. Just historicaly thats they way its been.

Not hating. Just pointing out Historicaly who has won? SS's and cars with lots of money. I think i can count two 2.2's that have ever won. Thats all, no hating.

Just so happens this month im up against someone who has a lot of time and money invested into a very nice looking car.

 

just a thought. to possibly make it fair, maybe we can have multiple categories. just a thought that will prolly most likely get shot out the sky like a duck during hunting season

 

i dunno i think you care to much about it? I know there has been a bunch of 2.4's that have won, but not wanting to insult anyone, but maybe your car isnt COTM worthy just yet??

It is cobaltSS.net not cobalt.net You might have better luck on a site not so centered around the ss trim

if its just for ss's, then why have forums on the non turbo or non ss cars. This site is for all cobalt owners
