snow day.
I dropped my car off on my way to work yesterday to get some winter rims and tires put on, I figured I had pushed it long enough, and that just in case we get some snow soon I'll get the tires now.
It was rather warm out at 7am for our weather this time of year.... 1C (34F).... the roads were dry and the skies were slightly overcast, the weather forcast called for LIGHT flurries in late afternoon... We ended up getting something like 25cm of very wet heavy snow... It took me over 2 hrs to get to the dealer from my job site, a drive that would normally take 15 mins.. Then it took me over an hour to go from the dealer home, normally a 15 min drive.. I left the job site at 6pm got home just after 9pm. I live in Nova Scotia, and we get A LOT of snow in the winter, so it always blows my mind that every year, the very first snow fall people go into panic mode, they drive 5km p/h and block every intersection they can find. It's so routine every year, I'd almost swear it was an organized event. Well this is a pic I took with my phone, this morning on my way to work... https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/fil.../2/6/side1.jpg On the plus side, the tires work great, it feels like they stop better in the snow than the factory tires did in the rain. https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/files/3/9/2/6/rim1.jpg From my balcony... https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/fil...6/Faraway1.jpg |
