Garrett turbo reliablility

I am goin to get the Garrett kit possibly, is there any isight on how reliable these systema are? My main concern is the weather, I live in Duluth MN and it can get as cold as -50, wait no, it will get as low as -50, how do turbos respond to sub zero temps? I'm thinking maybe the oil would be a problem or something? Anyway does the kit have any sort of warranty? If i had an issue would i be able to disconnect it in a day and still drive? I know some guys have turbos with the smc computer and they seem to have issues, is this statement accurate? Does the car act funny and set off the check engine light and all that? I have a lot of questions, sorry.

ohh yea 2.2l manual, and thank you but im not buying the new turbo one, gotta save for the Camaro.

well i donno how they are in the freezing cold, but garrett is a world class manufacture

i would suggest getting a block heater if you dont have one to keep the fluids warmish

If your engine can run in the cold, your turbocharger should be just as well. It shouldn't freeze up being that it's using your engines oil to lubricate it.

dont forget that once you start the car you have hot exaust gasses flowing through the turbo.

just follow what you should do right now, use a block heater, let the car run for a few minutes before you drive, or even rev the engine up, and make sure before you step on it that the car is at operating temps.

Well Ive seen single digit temps with no problem on my garrett/hahn setup.

It gets that cold up here too and there are lots of guys running around with turbo cars all winter.. some of them are pretty heavily modified too and they all do fine
