Looking for stockish turbo suggestion
I seem to be blow blue smoke out the exhaust. I pulled the plugs & the porcelain looks white, so I guess I got a bad seal on the exhaust side of the turbo. I'm at 189k miles.
My current setup is a smallest aftermarket IC, DP & hi flow cat, cold air & hp tuners to 24-26psi. I still have stock IC pipes. 276hp/315tq at the dyno.
I'm just looking for 1 step up from stock, as I've had problems w trans bearings going out in the past, because it wont take my abuse. I've returned the tune below 3k to be back at stage1 to prevent my problems with the trans, but at 3.5k & above I have full power.
I'm looking for a little better spooling than stock & a little better power, to makeup for the blow by of an old motor. I'm looking at the PTE upgrade turbo, but PTE don't seem to be very popular here, so what do you guy recommend? Price is no object. Also, I am having a GM dealership do the work, so I need to keep the turbo stock looking to them, so they don't get confused. They just learned to tie their shoes last week, you know.

Well my car is going into the dealership Monday & it is my only car, so I will be driving a rental. When I look at turbobay's website, they say it takes weeks to make one. The zzp54, will it need the heat shields removed to fit or I guess how tight is the fit is the question?

k04r is a waste. The dont last nearly as long as they should. go with the z54. You will have to remove the heat shields for it to fit, but its an easy install. Keep the boost down if you dont want a crazy amount of power. Then you can turn it up when you get the mod bug again.
