The damper will help transfer power more effectively (sp) to the ground. This could result in more wheel spin. The key here is to use the Stiffy's adjustability and tune for your driving style. The stiffy has adjustment in it to allow you to tune it for your style. If you launch high in the RPM's the stiffy should be set on the stiffest setting.... and so on down the line. A "Stiffy" will help some with wheel spin. The main thing the stiffy does is transfer the violent movement of the motor when you do a high rpm launch into usable power. If your tires are bald, all seasons, etc.. the tire is limiting grip now. Everything you change has positive effects and negative effects. In the case of the Stiffy there are very few drawbacks.

As a new member and owner of a black ss/sc I laughed at this post....the very first post I read. It is exactly what happend to me the very first time at a light.....embarrasing. Since, I've tried several different methods to minimize the wheel hop....NO LUCK!!!!
The very first post I read and I am enlightened.......thank you!

Wheel Hop " No More " !!!

I Just Installed That Bad Boy Last Friday And Presto Instant Tourque Hook Up, Has Any One Noticed An Increase In Engine Noise With This Installed!
I Know That It Increases Stiffness In The Motor Mount Area But Is The Noise Because Of This???

About the dampner, can it damage the engine or anything when hiting bumps in the road? How do you know how tight to set it?
Yesterday night a dodge ram hemi smoked me off take-off. We were only racing a 100 meters or so, so I didn't have a chance. On top of it, we were racing in the rain.

Don't even bother racing in the rain! You'll never win.
