Official CobaltSS.net Member’s Review: Tokyo Drift Movie
Since most of us are car fans and are going to see the movie regardless of all the negative vibes floating about the first 2 movies, I wanted to make an official review thread. Going out to see it? Come and tell us about it! Better then one and two? Did you like it?
Also, try not to drive your nice car… it would be a shame to have someone acting out and "drifting" into your car. Most of all be safe!
See ya after the movie
PLEASE Keep this thread a REVEW thread only. If you did not see it, please try not to post till you see it

I just got back from watching it. I thought it was a good movie. The stunts were not too far out there. From my understanding everything was really done. I loved the car crash at the beginning, seemed like something that could really happen. I was even surprised at the end. Worth seeing to me. I have like them all, but this one was more realistic to me.
I also took my car to the movie threater as well.

first one kicked ass... second one ok the thrid one still can't understand a inline V6 skyline in a 60somthing mustang..... big block power bak then! lol it was an ok movie that was the only thing that bothered me and the fact that mustang sounded like it had two different engines in some scenes it sounded like a wincester V8 others the 6 idk just what i heared

All I know is I am not going anywhere is my car tonight, or some asshat will think that life is a movioe and try to "drift" me and run into me. I have not seen it, I was actually hoping in the first one that he would get busted, but I guess they just had to glorify street racing.

I saw it. I got my moneys' worth. I wasn't expecting an academy award, but I was entertained.
if you've got nothing better to do, go see it and follow it with X-Men 3.

good
I thought it was really good. Took a new twist on the race scene. Maybe the best out of all of the now 3. Don't think we'll be seeing many balts out there drifting, but good nonetheless.

Yes, he first gets into trouble from racing, his mom sends him with his dad in japan
Basically same plot, races a few, finds the big dog, takes his girl...they race
Dad has the fastback in the garage, they see the totalled skyline and u get the idea
YES VIN IS IN IT
AT THE VERY END!

I liked it but in response to the mustang sounding diffrent in diffrent scenes that is mechanical but purely for practical film editing. The motor they used in it was a RB26DETT wich is a skyline GTR Motor. It is a 2.6 liter turbo inline 6. And the reason that Skylines never came to north america is largely to do with left hand drive problems becuse of the way that the car was built for Japan so I am curious how they managed the conversion becuase I know that it was actualy done. Oh Yeah and in case any one is wondering the Stage 2 SS kit Should be able to run 0-60MPH faster then all of thouse NOs driven drifters Stock a SS runs 6.2 Seconds and with the stage 2 5.8 is reasonable and the only car that ran under a 6.0 was drift kings 350Z @5.7 So those are stock cars that are Professionaly driven. Back to my original point there were 2 mustangs used in filming 1rb26dett Conversion and 5 V8's. So they should sound diffrent.
And all of the Sylvias ran stock sr20det Not Rb26dett's.
Sorry about the rant but Movies like this need to be made bu car guys not Script writers that think the know what they are talking about.

i saw it tonight and i think it was better than the first two, mostly because it lacked the computer generated scenes and there wasnt an overexaggeration when using nitrous. even my girlfriend enjoyed it and she hated the first two and was in no way excited about the prospect of seein the 3rd. on the way home it seemed like everyone was trying to race me. luckily no drifters but plenty of beat up hondas that were quickly silenced and one cocky kid in a bmw who realized daddys money couldnt help him win every race. but all in all a good time. i recommend it to anyone.

pretty good
i saw the movie tonight and i tought it was the best in the series there was not much variety in the cars but it was still entertaning especially in the begining when they raced the old school muscle car against the viper

I'm old school
I got two things. First, it was just weird, and some will say sacriligous, to put a nissan engine in a mustang.
Second, did ya notice what it said on the back of Vin Diesels car? "Xander"

greatest movie ever.... if only the first two were this good, great race scenes, the three drifting through moving traffic on city streets... that was awesome, the only part i think lacked was the japaneese yakuzza dude, where were his tattoos and i don't think they dress like american mobsters.... all in all awesome ...
