Wildcat Commotion Promotions and Chevrolet Merge Together
Tucson, Arizona- April 4, 2005 An all day event including free food and prizes is planned to introduce the University of Arizona community to Chevrolet's all-new premium compact car, the Cobalt. Chevrolet’s Cobalt will be displayed. The event, "Cobalt Commotion," will be held on April 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the U of A Mall.
Students stopping by the event to check out Chevrolet's vehicles can enjoy free food and music. The vehicle(s) will be on display, courtesy of Chevrolet. In addition to seeing and experiencing the new Chevrolet Cobalt, attendees could end up walking away with prizes such as a $50 Best Buy gift certificate.
Cobalt Commotion is the culmination of a semester-long effort by Wildcat Commotion Promotions, which consists of 50 University of Arizona students participating in the Chevrolet Marketing Internship Program- a unique industry-education partnership that gives students the opportunity to apply their classroom work in a real-world situation.
“We hope to create a buzz on campus and have students anticipating our next move. We hope that our efforts will leave a lasting impression, that the Chevy Cobalt is the ideal car for college students” commented Kristen Garcia, Public Relations Coordinator.
The promotional event is not the end of the road for the students at University of Arizona. A post-event evaluation is necessary in order to analyze the success of the campaign and students will research the effects of the event on their target market. The program participants will present the results of their research, along with an evaluation of their campaign strategy to executives from Chevrolet.
