9.4 l/100 km = 25 mpg for our friends.
I would say that sucks (you must romp on it alot), I get 7.2 (about 33 mpg) out of my 2.4 but I am >90% highway, steady 110 kph (65 mph) so it's tough to compare.

I've kept a fuel log since I bought my Cobalt. Mind you I've only got around 23,000 KM's on it, so not broken in yet. The best I have gotten is 33.5 MPG and the worst is 25.5 MPG. Of course most of my driving is 60% city/40% highway. On the highway I am usually doing 110-130 KM/H. And as for the city, it is Edmonton so there is no flow to the traffic which takes down the fuel economy. That and since I've had my winter on my economy has gone down about 3-4 MPG.
This is all hand calculated as I don't trust the dash readings. I can't wait to get the mileage my '03 Cav got as I was getting 33MPG with the same driving style/distance, but then again that car had close to 100,000 KM's on it!

I'm averaging 22-25 on my stock 2.2 with K&N (no idea if that really makes a difference). But I live in MI where there is no such thing as a flat / non bumpy road, plus I use auto start here and there

Alot can factor in. Time spent idling can greatly affect mpg. Also, Lugging the motor in 5th gear can net worse mpg, if the engine is knocking and it has to dump fuel to quench the knock. Gotta keep the engine in its wheelhouse.
25mpg isnt horrible for city driving, stop and go traffic. My stock 06 2.2 auto usually nets 27-29 mpg average combined city-hwy driving.

18-22mpg in the "great" city of bethlehem too much traffic or 25-28 mpg on the highway. im still on LSJ factory tune, and im sure my CAI doesnt help with the fact stock LSJ's run rich as ****. i get lots of black sutt on the rear end/exhaust tip. ive tried a new fuel filter, new plugs, replaced a bad timing chain tensioner and serpintine belt tensioner. its getin better but i think i just have a heavy foot im sure it'll improve when i get the proper tune from BYT once im ready for my stage 3 install in the spring/summer

Driving in 5th isn't always best technically. It's possible to go into to high of a gear and apply more throttle than efficiently can be done in 4th. I've tested this theory around the 35mph mark 4th is just the same as 5th gear mpg wise on 3 whole tanks of gas with no change in mpg between trying to use 5th on these low speeds and 4th.

i warm my car up to atleast 100degrees in the winter b4 takin off. so it gets extra dirty this time of the year... but once it rains and gets all soaked. i just gotta make a highway run and all that **** comes right off looks like i just washed it up. i think its from runnin rich. i put 93 v-power shell in it every time. and i definetly can smell the rich smell of octane sometimes when leavin work lol and she runs fine and purrs like a kitten :::knocks on wood:::
