According to my Aero gauges it's anywhere from 1.5 and under. Mine pops up randomly when that low though.

When mine goes on I believe that it takes 11.5 gallons to fill. Memory is kind of fuzzy, but I think it's 11.5 when the light comes on. How much do we hold?

I use "Torque" to tell me exactly till 0%. Last time on .8 gallons I did 15miles to the closest E station and like another guy posted, I was shitting bricks.

HP tuners also lets you know as well.

AFAIK, the low fuel warning comes on when you have an estimated 50 miles worth of fuel left.

So if you have been romping on it, there will be more fuel left in the tank when it comes on than if you have been just cruising easy on the highway.

Might be dead wrong on that though

i had to replace my fuel tank once, so i went driving to empty it out, after hitting the low fuel warning i gave it a couple WOT pulls and some more driving, i thought it would be almost completely empty. when i removed the fuel tank i still had a good 1.5-2 gallons left. since that day ive never really worried too much about the low fuel sign.

the tank holds 49 litres or roughly 13 gallons US. i have pushed 60km out of mine with the gas light on. wouldn't dare push it any further.

Your not dead wrong, I would say that yes 45-50 miles it does come on and at an efficient cruising speed that will be accurate(60mph). If you are to do 80+ though that 50 will not actually be 50. I know cause I was traveling from LA once to San Diego when the gas came on halfway and about 32miles later at 80mph the car shut off on me(Running E47), lucky for me and I mean this, the next exit i coasted down and wala!! There was the E station! WOOT!

I made it 35 miles (Bedford to Somerset on the Pike in PA) and had like two tenths of a gallon left when I filled up. To make things worse I got a speeding ticket, like I wasn't nervous enough lol

I'd say you're not wrong. I had the low fuel warning go off and staying off for 10-20 kms several times after restarting the car, if I'm easier on the throttle after restarting.

The low fuel gauge comes on when you have 40 miles left, at your current driving style. At a track day, my low fuel dinged on while I was doing my thing, and I still had half a tank left. A full tank of gas lasted 83 miles @7.7 mpg that day. So it will ding if you have 1 gallon left and you are hypermiling, or like me, driving like Stig, with about 6 gallons left

I didn't even know the DIC dinged at you in the SS for low fuel.. I've seen it in other base Cobalts, but not mine.
I've seen "low fuel range" cycling to the projected miles left, but that's about it.

yea, whenever I start to get a little uneasy with a the needle reading nothing and the low fuel light glaring at me I get gas and still had a good 2 gals or just abit less in there based on the fuel shut off on the pump reading 10.5 to 11.

The girl and I went on a trip and I decided to not get gas when I should have and thought we were screwed as it was in BFE Va and in the mountains but when we coasted into a gas station in Kentucky(had to drive 8 miles passed our destination to find a place) I figured it was pretty empty, pump shut down indicating we had 2 gals left lol. Oh well, needed to get full up anyway, fun roads up there so I wanted to play and not worry.

It's kinda beat though when it says low fuel. You clear the dic and try to return to the miles to empty and it just says low fuel. Damnit tell me how many miles!! I know it's low! Lol

You should try drafting Mack trucks. Maybe you'll learn something before you turn 18
