05 cobalt Lt exhaust size

Does anyone know the size of the stock exhaust mid pipe where it joins to the muffler. My wife's muffler came off the mid pipe. I assume the welds just let go. Because the pipe and muffler are still solid. No real rust at all. So I need to know the stock piping diameter of the mid pipe soni can get an adapter and a few clamps and put the muffler back on. Thanks.

I think it is around 1.75" to 2" but your best bet would be to just pull the the hangers out of the rubber mounts, remove the muffler and measure it. It should take no more than 5 min if the muffler is already disconnected from the main pipe.

Its 1 and 5/8ths or 7/8ths, not a common size

We'll... If its 1 7/8 a 2 much adapter and clamps would work perfect. If it is 1 5/8. Then a 1 and 3/4 adapterand clamps would be better.

Worst case scenario you can measure it tonight and get a muffler tomorrow. Or you could also call the parts store and see if they can find a replacement muffler by make/model/year.

My muffler and mid pipe are both good. Just the weld holding them together let go. So I need to get an adapter. Like a 3 inch piece of exhaust length just slightly larger then the mid pipe andnmuffle and then use exhaust clamps to hold it on.
