06 cobalt ls tranny cooler lines stud snapped off?
I was replacing the tranny cooler lines. The stud/nut that is on the transmission that holds the cooler lines in place snapped from being over torqued. Now I can't drive the car.
Is there enough space to try and weld a bolt or nut and try to back out the broken stud? Do I need to remove the radiator or anything?

You think theres enough room in there to get a welder in there? Can the radiator fan being removed give enough room to get a drill down in there? Everyones telling me to find a shop that can weld a washer onto the stud sticking out and then weld a nut to the washer and then use a wrench to turn the nut.

I tried needle nose vise grips and they dont 'bite' - they just slip off trying to lock them on the broken stud. I also tried regular vise grips and those slip off too. I even tried using a propane torch to heat up the stud and after 5 minutes of flame on it, the stud isn't even hot. So for now I've been soaking the hell out of it in PB blaster. I do have a rotary tool but if I cut a slot, I may just break the tip of the stud or using a screw driver might break the tip off trying to turn it. It looks bigger in pictures because my phone is zoomed in really close. But where it's sticking out is tiny in person hence why vise grips arent working.
I'm thinking of talking to a shop but I don't really know how the hell to explain all this. I guess I can bring my phone and show the pictures since I can't drive the car.
Should I plan for the worse? Like they would have to remove the radiator fan/radiator, to get more room? I just hope it wont cost over $500 I know of a radiator shop around here that also does mostly everything for cheap. A transmission shop here said they can fix it with $80 an hour labor however long it takes and to plan for worst case scenerio.
