The reason I need to know is I have a set of 195 70 14 winter tires that have about 85% tread left on them that were absolutely free, now I need to know if I mont them on 14's will the rim clear the caliper?? or will there be any other clearance issues???

No, without proper modifcation to the brake calaper this will not fit.

 

I think I've read that 16" is the smallest rim you can put on the car w/o rotor clearence issues.
