Alignment for coilovers

Hey guys on coils... are you using the factory alignment specs for the alignment? Or is there special specs for coil overs?

I'm assuming is the factory specs... but was speaking with an alignment guy and he said sometimes the aftermarket place provides their own specs. I can also call stance and ask but I figure you guys may know.

2007 Cobalt SS/SC on Stance coilovers btw.

Thanks for the help. :cssNET:

Factory specs will be fine. I've been on coils for a couple months with factory specs for the alignment part and everything has been good

Are you using them for street use, or racing too?

thanks guys... going saturday morning. Gonna just stick with the factory specs.

Viperoni - mostly street use with occasional track use.

You might want to look into scaling the car 99% of guys don't do it but you can drastically effect handling with it.

My car handles well as is. Plus I'm not a track guy.

Sorry, I should have asked if it was drag racing or autox/road course...
For drag racing, you still want to have some grip when cornering on the street, so 0 or say -0.5 degree camber would work well, and definitely 0 toe.
For autox/road course, because you are still doing mostly street driving, I'd say no more than -1.5 degree camber and 1/16" to 1/8" toe out.

A front wheel drive with all rubber bushings should ALWAYS have some positive toe. When you accelerate hard front wheel drive pulls the wheels straight. Even if your drag racing the wheels will be pulled inward thus youll end up at a toe in and start scrubbing speed off.
