Sounds like you might want to look into asking a dealer about premature wear issues, might be replaced by your warrenty, they'd do it if it was a seat wouldn't they, why not a floor mat?

The day I brought my new car home, I took out the driver's side floormat and put it away for safe keeping. I'd rather wear out a cheapie one from Autozone.

mine is 8 months old, and are well on their way to looking like that.. im buying the diamond plated floor mats from C-A when i get some extra $$ laying around bc mine look like crap and i hate soaked floor mats in the winter due to the snow

That happened in my 2003 Cavalier. I had a HOLE after about 3 weeks. The dealer replaced them under warranty, as stated above, for premature wear. I'd go bitch at them, nicely, and they'll probably replace them.
That said, my Cobalt hasn't worn hardly at all, weird.

Mine does it too. They are just floor mats, so i dont really care. Either your gonna have to put another rubber set in, or another stock one. I got my deep rubber ones for the winter. I can always make them all year round mats.

My sister's 05 cavy has the same problem. I thought it was because she drives too much, but apparently it's a common problem. No wear in my Cobalt, but I don't rack up the miles.

Yeah mine looked like that 2 days after I bought the car. I'm just going to replace them when they get a hole in them, they're actually pretty cheap at the dealer last time I asked.

The Dealer has a nice set of rubber honeycomb type custom fit for our cars, only around $40. Just a warning, the chevy symbol is gold. But they fit nice, and catch all the sand and water, and can just be dumped out and hosed off.

Yeah, well the local car wash put two of my mats in another car. To cover they bought me a whole new set. Luckily it was the pasenger side. So I have a nice replacement one in my trunk to put in at meets and shows.
