Berger SS

Check out this car. this is the car that was recently in a magazine saying it had 270hp. But its at a dealership. But the magazine showed it being a Berger SS and this car is at Berger Chevrolet. Anyone seen this car in person?

Yep, total hoax. Someone will be stupid enough and buy that instead of getting an SC for the same price NEW.

patathSS 08-31-2006 11:50 AM

Call Berger. I am sure they would tell you. This was one of the dealerships I looked for an SS at when I lived in Michigan.

nooo thats just a misprint, it is a cobalt ss/sc, trust me look at the rear rotors, look at the supercharged emblems, look at the 5 lug wheels, you can kinda tell too by seein the interior by the 160 mph guage, etc. ... i can go on

Woodyr007 08-31-2006 11:53 AM

It's a SS/SC

I think they are just listing the Base Cobalt stats but it is an SS. Look at the gallery pictures. If they did an SS swap they did everything. Hubs, dash, body kit, everything.

It is an SS/SC look up^^^^^^^^^^^^^

BLKSS 08-31-2006 11:56 AM

Yeah probably the SC then. Didnt notice all the pics.

splink 08-31-2006 11:57 AM

wow...did the dealership put enough branding on that? even the speedo had a berger sticker on it...

my cobalt came branded from tom henry chevy cause it was used as a pace car but everything was vinyl and they were able to remove it all when i bought it

JCswoosher2 08-31-2006 12:28 PM

that exact car is in a magazine. its labeled as a Berger SS with 270 hp. i will try and fidn the magazine and prove it

JCswoosher2 08-31-2006 12:31 PM

ok its the September GM High Tech Performance magazine. page 88.

JCswoosher2 08-31-2006 12:32 PM

its all about advertising. Berger is huge in Camaros. and im sure everyone would love to have a Berger SS Camaro. Its authentic.

3fo893013L 08-31-2006 12:33 PM

I like how it's a 2006 but has an iPod jack in it

I won't buy this period.. too many inconsistancies in the selling brochure.

Acidangel_5.0 08-31-2006 12:34 PM

i saw this car at the Year One show up in Commerce/Road Atlanta earlier this year.. it looks pretty sweet and it was a SS/SC, i made the guy pop the engine and let me look around and i can vouche for the supercharger being on it.

Yeah , hehe ...Berger has a long storied history of VERY collectible Chevy's . Most of the cost in that SS is in the Wheels . I dont if you guys know anything about Fikse wheels .....Ive never actually seen them on a FWD car ....but a 18" wheel is over $1000 a piece and weigh about 16-17lbs . So you got about roughly $4500 in rims alone before adding in the other parts . Its a popular wheel with the F-bodies , Vettes and Porshes mostly . Other than those the car is said to have .....GM stg 2 , GMMP manifold , GMMP exhaust and a K&N intake and the decals .

I dont know why they have all the info so messed up .....the actual MSRP of that SS is $33,000 .

JCswoosher2 08-31-2006 07:04 PM

well with a $25,000 car with $4500 wheels and those GMPP parts. $33,000 is about right

joeworkstoohard 08-31-2006 07:12 PM

well, as stated before berger chevy has a long rep... they're up there with yenko and (shit, i can't think of the that did dealer special mopars)

the idea was/is simple. they make a few changes, and it's a "special" a LOT of times these were cars that were "showroom stock" for racing... but i digress...

just being from the dealer could mean a lot if the balt SS is ever a collectors item.

05BlackCobaltSS 08-31-2006 07:21 PM

Yea, I bet you all a Berger Cobalt SS in 25 years will net 10-20k over a regular SS/SC. The Berger name carries alot with it.
EDIT: Those wheels=pure sexyness

97 Z Me Go 08-31-2006 10:02 PM

Berger is the SHIT! I Also have a camaro and they are huge in that group and back in 69-70 with the nova and camaro. Cars that have a vin linked to them with any of there packages are very very high in demand.

They should of at least put the damn Fiske fm5s on there. There my favorite.
