Beware of tin foil on OIL

Changing the oil today and apparently a piece of the tin foil, about a dime size, fell into the oil and I saw it pour right down into the oil fill. Small enough piece that I am not too concerned about it, just a heads up. Hope it will a. get chewed up and end up in filter or b. lodge in a corner somewhere or c. come out in next oil change. FREAKING MOBILE 1.

That's definitely something to worry about not to just ignore. That's enough to clog a line and starve a part of the engine of oil although I believe the pick up does have a mesh screen it wouldn't get past, but at teh same time it was pored into the engine from the valve cover so I kinda doubt it got all the way to the oil pan.

Probably should have cleaned the foil off better on the bottle neck. Don't have to worry about that with mine. Amsoil ftw.

i would most definitely be either:
A) draining the oil and pouring oil through hoping it comes out, or
B) dropping the oil pan and hope that it got caught in the screen

this is why engines have oil screens and filters. I wouldn't worry about it

It's not mobil 1's fault you dropped the foil in your engine....

I always carefully remove the foil before I pour the oil in my engine.

I would def at least drain the oil, or remove the cam cover to see if you can find the piece of foil.

Trying to play it off as that foil was already in there and not from you dropping it in the bottle.
