Archived Codes (not current ones)
When I have my codes scanned to troubleshoot a new code it pulls up all the old archived codes in the scan tool which causes me to have to go through all the codes hunting for a new one. Doing the battery cables together, headlights on and brake to drain the system resets the check engine light, but doesn't remove the archived codes. This means whenever I do throw a new one, it's back to searching the list printed out of codes that have been entered into the ECU over time.
Without the dealer, is there any way to remove archived codes in the ECU? A standard cheapie scan tool doesn't.
