hey guys i like my new cobalt

hi i'm a new cobalt owner. i traded in my old 3000gt for an 06 ss/sc and damn its awesome. I never had intentions to start modding until I dropped a k&n filter in. I wish someone warned me that the sound of a whining blower would be so addicting.
so what's next. I doubt there's much more mods I could do for just $50 that adds that noticeable of a difference.

If you have a warranty you need the GM tune to not void it. Congrats on the car.

Pics of the 3KGT? I love them.
First good mod on that K&N drop in. Worth the money.

trans mounts should be the first mod for anyone with a SS/SC.

dude... looked around couldn't find any pics of the gt lol guess i didn't love it enough, it was falling apart.

gm tune sounds like it would hold me back. but i will look into that route.

would you recommend the STOP mounts? or are the zzp front and rears good enough

lnf mounts work fine and retain the factory look in case you are worried about your warranty.

Aw, man. :/ What year, color was it? Would be jealous if it was a VR4.
GM tune wouldn't hold you back, per se, but it's a warranty retainer.

As for mounts, there's a couple aftermarket pieces that are quality.
Then as SaberD recommended, LNF mounts.
This is because 05-07 SS suffers from wheel hop.
A combination of trans and engine mounts will help minimize it. There's more to help it even further, but most bother with those.

I just got a cobalt too. 09 SS t/c. Love it so much, been trying to figure out what to do to mine first. I was thinking of getting some K&N gear but apparently it's not street legal in NJ. :$

But good luck man with your mods!

zzp stage 3 kit (eventually you'll buy all of it lol, just save up get it all at once)
Your favorite exhaust and header (differences between are minimal)
Lower it (preference from what I can tell)
GOOD TUNE

It was a dark green '98 base model. All it did was taught me how to drive stick. but awh man if it was a vr4 I would've kept that forever.

Here's my cobalt, it's still pretty fresh

Dope! I bet that turbo is fun to drive. It really is hard to figure out what to do, there's so much room for mods and once you do the first thing its like, whats next?

good luck with yours as well

ha I used to have a 3000gt too, was a 92 vr-4 put way too much money into the motor, but the rest was falling apart. only went a year until I felt the itch for turbo power again so I picked up my 09 ss, still miss the vr-4 every now and then.

Congrats on the Cobalt! If you have $$$$ to spend, you can go as aggressive as you want tune and modding wise. I had a highly modified S/C at one point, now an 09 TC with GM Stage 1. Both were/are fun

Good luck with your future modding
