looking to buy a new intake for s/c, help?

I bought my SS about 2 months ago and i'm looking to hear more whine!! I've heard talk about intakes "throwing codes"? could anybody explain to me what that means and tell me any good intakes that don't throw them, also which intakes are best in terms of performance, s/c noise

Throwing codes mean that a DTC will come on. This happens because the intake takes in more air then what the PCM recognizes and throws off the trims. Not a big deal, a tune will fix that easily. Where are you at in Illinois? I'm just south of Joliet. I had the Injen intake and liked it. It did throw a code tho. ZZP makes a great product and its a true 3in. Really opens things up and will help you get the "whine" that you want!

Fix what? Your car may not set a code, it's temperamental. I would say put one on and go from there

I used to have the Injen CAI in my car and the CEL would come on whenever it was warm out. Dunno if the ZZP is as temperamental but its worth a shot.

I've had the ZZP since April and it's worth every cent. Whine is loud and no codes. Truely is a 3 in intake, it's a really snug fit.
