EPS Fuse Blowing

I know this has come up a time or two..or three...can't seem to find a long term solution though, I have gone through 3 fuses in 48 hours, something must be going on???

I have 184,000+ miles,

Its a 2009 2.2
Seems like it has something to do with hitting bumps or my bad luck has great timing, usually I hit a bump (but not ANY and EVERY bump...so idk if the fuse is heating up and getting weak and then the jarring of the bump snaps it or what.. the bell chimes and POWER STEERING lights up and the next time I stop the engine I will have lost power steering until I replace that fuse....

my boss keeps telling me to go with a 5a or use aluminum foil...
so we won't be taking his advice

Any Suggestions? What's this power steering recall? I don't know if I've had it done, can call the dealership and find out..would it have anything to do with this?

I'd start by checking to see if you have had your power steering pump replaced from the recall. I'd imagine there would be a record at the dealer if you have all your service done there.

Thank You!
There are NO open Recalls, I checked this morning with the dealership.

Pardon my ignorance, but we are talking about the power steering motor? And where are the grounds located? Which Fuse box? Under the Hood? or The Panel on the passenger side?

This vehicle IS upfitted with emergency lighting, for roadside assistance, but it was Professionally installed (not ruling out issues with it), however this is a recent issue.
It also seems to happen more frequently if I have to give a jump start using cables instead of a jump box. And then there is the weird part where it only blows when I hit a bump...lol

Seeing as it normally happens when you hit bumps, I'm willing to bet there may be a chafed wire somewhere in the circuit that causes an intermittent short to ground, blowing the fuse. Best of luck in diagnosing this! And no matter what the circumstance, never put a higher rated fuse in the slot... fires are bad, mmkay

Use aluminum foil?!?! I knew a guy who did that with more than one fuse and a ton of his wires melted together.
