I was a volunteer for a fire company and I've see what happens to a vehicle that crashes at high speed. I promise you that when you run into something at 90 MPH or more, an air bag does about as much as a napkin taped to your forehead.
At lower speeds they may help some but I try to make sure everyone is behind me.
By the way, I have a new GM Stage II kit for sale with the original receipt. Send me a private message if interested.

Trade in your car for a Delorean. By time you reach 88 MPH, it won't matter if a car is in front of you cause you'd disappear.
True Story.

As for side airbags and safety I don't care really. I guess many of you aren't old enough to remember a time when there were NO airbags in cars, let alone fancy smancy side airbags. I lived to make it to this point and I am sure I will live through my cobalt years too. If I do happen to die because of a car accident then oh well. You gotta go somehow. It's better then dying in a nursing home.
Wow man, this is speaking from a 20+ year firefighter, that car held up pretty damn good for you bros to make it out of that. WOW!!!!!!!!!!
