GMPP muffler packing material loose?

i was taking off my GMPP muffler to clean it and i noticed when i shake it hard there is something sliding around a little bit inside. it is not little bits of carbon (because i hear those too but thats normal) it sounds like the packing material is loose inside. i was wondering if anybody knows what the packing material is like (as in loose or like a sheet that is wrapped around the sleeve) and if this is something to be concerned about?

thanks

Does it make any noise when you are driving the car?

Why did you remove the muffler to clean it? Wouldn't it be easier to just jack the car up and clean it installed??

Any who... I believe the packing material will slide around in the muffler housing. They more than likely shrink a bit over time.

If you aren't hearing any strange sounds why driving the car, I wouldn't worry about it.

no strange noises, but i bought the car with the GMPP exhaust already on it so i was not sure if this could have been possibly a preexisting problem. thanks for the help
