Goblin Turbo (09 SS donor car)
First, here's a video of the semi-finished product:
The car it raced against in the video is running the 2.2 LAP with an auto transmission. It's 0-60 has been measured at 4.75 seconds so it definitely isn't slow. The turbo car hasn't been clocked yet but it is likely to be low 3s.
The car started as a wreck 2009 SS:
Wrecked 09 SS.
It was wrecked hard in the front. Broke all the motor mounts, oil cooler, front cam position sensor, fuse box and more.
We took it all apart, replaced the broken pieces and installed it all into one of our frames. We haven't got the body on it yet but the car is driveable:
Turbo Goblin without body.

Edit (not sure why the video links didn't work, trying again)
This video shows the first start of a base auto Goblin. You can see how many of the Cobalt parts are reused:
This video shows how the powertrain is installed:

Just thinking of 12 years of Cobalt's that have been crushed that could have had a second life.
I could have purchased an 07 SS/SC for $1000.00 this weekend with front end damage. Everything else was ok. Sadly after a really nice config, your into this for $12,000.
$12.000 will get you a very nice super low mileage SS/TC
