389,000 Mile Cobalt SS

2006 Cobalt SS Supercharged. 389,000 original engine and transmission. It’s getting a new clutch right now. Anyone else up this high? 😎

Damn I didn't think these were good much after 200,000 miles. Lots of highway driving or what is the story with this one? What mechanical parts are original still?

I'm not sure about my car before 289,000km (179,000 miles), which is what I bought it with in May of 2014.
A lot of what I do is highway. She was parked for all of 2015 while I was out of the province.

I don't know what to look for to know if it is the original engine and trans.
I do know I'm due for a clutch, and being than I am nearing the 400k km mark I'm told a new timing set would be in my best interest.

Aside from the accident I had a week ago yesterday, I do think it had been in one before, when I had the bumpers off to get it wrapped there were some poorly done repairs done to the back side of the front bumper. I fixed them as best I could.

Nice to see the engines holding up at those mileages, I assume all stock.

Bone stock.
The clutch is shot not sure how many times that has been replaced. Original owner did a lot of highway driving from what I was told.
This might be the highest mileage cobalt ss in existence 😂😂

I've ripped on mine a fair amount, hence how I know the clutch is just starting to go. You've got to really rip on it to get it to slip.

That's crazy man. I bought my Cobalt with 15,000 miles on it and considered it pretty much brand new. In your case, even though it is a Cobalt I wonder if it could actually hold value through the years being so low mileage. I drive the **** out of my Cobalt and it's also a base turd but if I had SS with that low of mileage I would probably have a hard time adding to it.

The only way a cobalt would hold value is if it had gold bricks in it haha

I'm always so amazed at the Blue Book on these cars. It has gone to almost nothing. The market is a little higher than KBB right now though. Thank Goodness.
