I can't believe this hasn't been asked...
and if it has i couldn't find it in a search.
I saw crate engine depot is doing a big sale and i was on the verge of buying a gmpp exhaust, now i have no excuse not to. there are 8,000 people asking which is better, the sport or touring, i'm not going to ask that. what i am going to ask is is anyone knows anything about the flow of the two? I'm looking at this mainly as a fuel economy thing (thats how i justify it to myself) is there any flow difference between the two? could people post mpg gains with both systems to give me an idea of which one to go with? I'm 90% sure i'm going with the touring, but if the performance one will get me more mpg i'll go with it. I think with this and a good intake i can beat my girls prius in mpg... at least on the highway. |
only difference is the resoniator which affects the sound not flow.

There is no difference in gains or flow between the two, just a sound difference.

IDK, but i picked up almost 3 MPG and 45 whp from my 2.5" custom magnaflow exhaust, #42's, AEM CAI, and re-tune. (plus I'm driving alot faster... so i think the MPG gain could be higher, if i cared about MPG)
so perhaps, an exhaust isn't the way to go.. i think intake, and injectors w/ retune is your best bet for MPG. but it may cost like $900 USD to get all that  |
I don't see you beating a prius on the highway or city.

I wouldn't trust the DIC so much. Nothing beats good old math to calculate gas mileage.

I dont have the GMPP Exhaust but just to give you an idea, I got 3 more mpg with my ARK.

i just filled up a few days ago and the dic is telling me 45 so i don't know... i'm sure it won't stay that high but i'd be very happy to see 40, with the hot weather i've seen the last few days it might be possible... we will see! |
With pen and paper I figured my whole trip to flordia a few months ago. On 1 tank of gas I got 37 mpg. That was in flat Southern IL with a tail wind and doing 55 mpg.
