I ALWAYS go overkill, I hate fixing stuff after I've already built it. My nova pretty much is bullet proof and it hasn't been out of the garage in 10 years, sadly.

Post more pics when you get it mounted. I suggest the trolls just block us if they don't want to see pics.

How am I showing off? It’s my build thread. You don’t have to participate. You like messing with me everywhere it seems.

I won’t say too much. Don’t want to get banned. I enjoy this site and it’s very helpful. So I guess say what you want since you’re a mod

I'm rarely serious on here, but thankfully this sight doesn't play the stupid games that the Facebook pages play.
Nice fuel pump!

I don’t know if y’all are aware of the fuel pump canister issue with some cobalts. Makes it to where you can’t go wot with 1/4 tank of gas or less. There’s not enough fuel in the tank so it causes fuel pick up problems. A lot of lsjs have that issue and I guess some 2.4s. I’ve never been able to go wot unless I have more than 1/4 tank. That’s the main reason I got the surge tank. And so I know I’ll be safe.

Ok, ok, everyone play nice. I dont need my phone blowing up with 100 reported posts. Lets act somewhat decent here. This is a good thread, and we dont see many builds like this anymore so lets keep it clean of the sly comments etc.

I agree i didnt see anything worth reporting either, some banter back and forth but nothing like a personal attack.

This site isnt what it used to be as the platform has moved on, the traffic isnt what it was as social media has evolved as well. But still this is a site many people still use daily and enjoy. Just keep it somewhat grown up, and if anyone is finding themselves at odds with someone repeatedly pm a moderator about the issue, if its the same person reporting over and over and over again, maybe that said person is the issue, or is making an issue out of nothing.

No finger pointing, no names being thrown out, thats just the generalization of it. And no more of it, it dies here, lets get back to enjoying Chevygirl2006's thread.

Did a boost leak test and there was a major one. Also installed new 160s. Installing the surge tank tomorrow. Getting everything done for important face off Sunday. Going to enter into the sport compact drag racing competition.

Since you are testing at the induction side:

Remove the throttle body and couple to the SC
Remove all lines / hoses behind the throttle body and plug securely
Test again with no more pressure than you ever plan to boost to, keeping in mind what the M62 could peak at. I don't know what the OEM seals can handle including the Laminova seals. It would suck to blow out a seal somewhere.

If you have one, use a cylinder leakage tester so you can measure an actual percentage of leakage as there will be some normal leakage by the rings.

its a lot simpler to test for a boost leak on a roots supercharged car. you just look for a vacuum leak, and if you dont have one you also dont have a boost leak.

Have you made a shakedown pass on the car yet? Hate to see you have big expectations for a decent event without making tweaks to it ahead of time.

Where were you having a boost leak if you don't mind me asking? I've had problems with injectors and isolator seals but always like to be aware of potential trouble spots.

My intake manifold wasnt sitting straight because it was hitting the ic pump bracket. The single pass side of the manifold was hitting it.

Don’t have big expectations this weekend. I’m going just to see what it does as it sits. I want to test it out before running it at tx2k in a few weeks. The two classes I can enter only require a 13.9 and a 12.9 to qualify

How did you remedy the situation?
