Ok.....I new at this stuff.....I know a lot, but then there is so much more I don't know. Can someone explain to Trap (as in trap mph) to me?
Just for reference for anyone else wanting to know about reading a time slip...
R/T - Used to show the amount of time from when the light hits green to when the beam blocked by your tires is unbroken. IE, You can actually start rolling a couple inches before the beam is completed again, helping out your reaction time, hence... the leave on the 3rd yellow
60' - Amount of time it takes to go the initial 60 feet of the track. Generally used to show how well your car "hooks up"
330' - Amount of time it takes the vehicle to go the beginning 330 feet of the track. Used mostly for how well that 1st/2nd gear shift goes, and how well the vehicle picks up momentum after hooking up.
1/8 - This is your TIME for completing an 1/8 mile of the track. Some tracks are only an 1/8 of a mile long, so this may be the end of the slip (MPH should also be shown)
MPH - This is going to be the MPH that is following the 1/8 mile time. High numbers here show cars that have good low/mid range power, and can pull pretty hard throughout the band.
1/4 - This is the standard time in racing and comparing cars today. This shows how long it takes your vehicle to go a 1/4 mile of the track. People have different opinions based on their vehcile, but the general rule is that a low 13 second car is considered quick. Anything below that starts becoming fast, and anything below 12.0 is considered very fast. Anything in the single digit club is generally not a daily driver (generally, not the rule). This time is often referred to as your ET.
MPH - The MPH at the end of the quarter mile. This shows your speed at the end. Also referred to as the Trap speed (on the 1/8 mile track, your 1/8 mile MPH is considered your trap speed). A high number here with a high ET indicated a strong top end car that has traction problems. In reverse, a low trap speed with a low time indicated a car with good traction.
Hope that helps anyone.

Yea... 1320 / 66 = 20
It is taking the time it takes you to go from 66 feet away from the end to the end of the 1/4.
Whatever that time is, it multiplies it by 20 to get feet per second. It then takes that and multiplies it by 60 to get MPH.
Edit... Im thinking Im missing a step... Lol... Its late.

Good luck.
I think most trap's beams are set 66 feet from the finish line and 66 feet after the finish line -- total of 132 feet. If your car takes 1 second to trip each beam then your speed is 90 MPH (132 feet a second is 90 MPH).
