My Cobalt Progress Thread

Well I couldn't figure out which forum to post this in because I have some cosmetic stuff happening to my car as well(gauges) instead of just strictly performance. So the past couple weeks I have been plotting on how to modify my car to make it a little bit faster and still appear semi stock. Talked to a service manager and asked him how he would warranty my car but he explained all the little details that I won't post.

So yesterday after work I drove to the Summit Racing store out in McDonough, GA(4 hr commute with light traffic). But I work in Bremen, GA so its just like an hr away doing my speed.

Here is what I purchased as to not make it a wasted trip(store pictures Dad has my digital camera still for his work) :
A/F Gauge

Muffler(smallest outlet I could find anywhere grr)

Oil pressure gauge and sending unit

Total: ~$125

What I still have left to get:
Dual gauge pod
Stock exhaust to cut up to make my exhaust(just to keep my stock exhaust intact)
Header
Short ram intake
Tint
Directional Tires

MAYBE Nitrous...just a small 55 shot or something. I will be waiting to install these items until I get all of them gathered. Well I will TRY my hardest.

Nice.. Quick question. How does our dealerships warranty nitrous? Might be another one of my stupid warranty questions but I was jw. I figured if anything did happen to go wrong I could just take it out easily enough. Would they be able to find out?

That is why you see the 'MAYBE' because it will be voiding the warranty. Nitrous does leave signs on the internals of the block. Burned piston, etc. So yeah...not quite sure on that just yet.

good buys...the only thing i was wondering was do you like the ricey sound or the deep sound because with the round can you will get a pretty ricey sound and with a oval one like flowmaster you will be a nice clean roar. i dont have a link but somewhere on this site is a video with a cobalt with a flow 40 series and it sounds awesome. just my two cents

Bigger resonator is going on. We'll see how it is and if I can't stand it...I'll yank it off and replace it.

Oh yeah...our a-pillars...are the Z24 Cavalier the same?

Well as most of you guys know my exhaust is already installed. Well I am working on my gauge pod to my pillar right now(as I type). And I purchased me a little toy last night. Only four more things then my car will be pretty much done. Then I get to spend the money on my project car.
