over a week to change a head? wtf

:cussing:

So i take the car to the dealership tuesday night of last week so they can replace my head, do to the oil leak on the side of it. anyways back to the story. they tell me when i drop it off that they are estimating 2 to 3 days to get it fixed. and they wouldnt give me a rental car because im at like 40k, but they would still fix the head for free under warranty since theyve been trying to find the problem since like 14k.

wednesday- let them work on the car

thursday i call and check on the car and they say "well gm sent us an empty head and expected us to reuse ur valves, etc, but they were damaged so they had to order the valves over night and then send it to the machine shop and have it all put together. head was suppose to come back early friday so they could finish up and give me the car back....

friday -i call friday afternoon and ask if i can come get the car and they say "no because the machine shop didnt get the head back to us until late this afternoon, so we will have to finish it saturday.... " im like "okay, well u know i dont have a car right now, because u said u wouldnt give me a rental" they apologize and say sorry for the inconvience and hangup.
they call back later and say i can come get a rental car for free since its been over the time of estimated finish. so thats cool.

saturday i was told to call back at noon and check on it. okay, so i check on it. and they say this time. "well its gonna be a few more days because when they sent us the sc gasket they sent a hubcap instead of a gasket. Im going to order the gasket overnight on sunday and then finish it asap."

sunday-off?

monday- guy calls in sick

tuesday- guy calls in sick

wednesday- they say overnight didnt show up with the part yet, so it should be in thursday and they will finish the car...

im getting so pissed. thursday is a grand total of 9 days of having my car. It only took me and my uncle 2 saturdays to take off the head and put it back on when i had my prelude.

damn dude that sucks next time take it to a different stealership

Smitty1017 10-11-2007 05:07 AM

They need more time so that everyone can take turns wanking off all over every square inch of your car

g5mike 10-11-2007 05:26 AM

Took em a week to do mine.

RollermanDan 10-11-2007 05:26 AM

Same exact thing happened to me, but with a clutch situation. Took them 3 weeks just to get a new clutch, pressure plate, and everything slapped back together. Sounds like you're getting the royal *#@*!around* job that others have gotten.

Ask for the tracking number on the overnight and call their bluff.

they finally finished it today and to say thanks for being patient they washed my car. WASHED MY CAR. wtf

bryce712 10-12-2007 12:39 AM

have they never washed it before? most places do it as a courtesy for coming in.

:cussing: I know what ya mean man. you end up paying with "time" when they fix shit under warrenty. like two weeks after i got my cobalt, somehow the little ratcheting gear inside the e brake fell out, therefore, i had no E-brake unless i jammed something in there to keep it applied. i took it in and TOLD them exactly what was wrong with it. i wait around all fuckin day inside this place just for them to tell me the exact same thing i told them. they had to order the part, which took a month for them to recieve, meanwhile i got tired of waiting and fixed it myself. it does still need a new one cuz it tends to pop out every now and then but fuck the wait.

They found the problem and are going to fix it, not the dealers fault that they have not had the part delivered (unless they never ordered it). If only one tech was working on it, it would probably take 16 or more hours to tear down the engine and build it back up.

well last time i checked people usually work 8 hours a day and if it were to take 16 hours, that would be two days... .. ... i got the car back now and the engine bay looks like shit. oily marks and shit all over the place. imma clean it up tomorrow.
