I don't believe that you can take it off the 2.2, at least in my experience, every remote start / security was binded to the car. As for the SS/SC, you would have to bypass your ECU as you have to push in the clutch every time you want to start it.

I would highly recommend against this idea. First, you are making more work for yourself in time and money. Second, while you CAN put a remote start on a manual, you shouldn't. Doing it, as said above, required a clutch switch bypass, which is there for a reason. The first time you park the car in gear and use the remote start, you break stuff.

I have heard of friends who put it on manuals, and they had nothing but problems.

You are going to have problems because you are starting the engine with the clutch engaged. The trans isn't designed to function that way, and the starter will have an extra load on it. And the first time you park the car in gear and forget about that and try to remote start it, the car is going to move and you aren't going to be there.

It's actually illegal to put a remote start on a manual, but I've heard of it being done. And you definitely won't find any legitimate manufacturer make a kit for a manual. It would probably be a huge hassle as other people said because you have to bypass the sensor that tells the car the clutch is in.

Nothing bad would happen until you forgot it was in gear and started it. Then as said before it would burn up the starter because of the extra load on the engine, or start ghostriding itself into the nearest obstacle. The manufacturer of the kit isn't going to warranty anything if you put it on a manual, and if GM found it when you brought it in (especially if you are coming in for something caused by the system, like a burnt up starter) they would pull your warranty so fast it would make your head spin. I foresee nothing but problems.

They are the only remote start manufacture that makes a remote start that is compatible with a manual transmission. There is no reason a remote start will hurt the car. I've had one on my Red Line for over a year and have had no problems what so ever. Since it is designed to work with a manual trans, you don't have to worry about starting the car in gear.

In order for the remote start to work, when you go to park you have to take your foot off the break, put the car in neutral, pull the parking break, and turn the key off. The car will stay running until you get out and shut the door. Once you shut the door the car turns off and the doors lock.
