Seat belt removal.

Im trying to get the seatbelts out of my SS and i cannot get the top bolts on the front belts to budge. I tried everything from an impact wrench, air rachet, breaker bar, everything and they wont move. Any help?

I've taken those out before and they are a bitch! They are like 2-3 inches long and covered in loctite. My best advice is to use the proper Torx bit and a breaker bar with a pipe as an extention. ALSO I was told that if you heat the bolt up it might be easier. Something like this should be sufficient http://www.bernzomatic.com/PRODUCTS/...3/Default.aspx

Wow... I'd suggest trying heating it with a heat gun or something to try and break any locktite they used (if any) or try a penetrating oil

Yeah they most definitely used loctite. ALOT. Penetrating oil is better for freeing bolts that are rusty but it might help a little bit.

i knew they had to be covered in locktite but i didnt know if anyone had any tricks to get them out.

yeah its a seat belt, its in there pretty fucking good, apply heat, then get something to chill it quick then heat again and you should be okay.

i would assume a dust off can upside down would be good enough to coolit down since you cant really just dump water on it.

Vice grips. You can get new bolts ordered at the dealer for like 5 a piece or something. What are you taking them off for? You painting the headliner?

Too late, i just grinded off the head, and the are still stuck even after using a torch and vice grips. Ill mess with it when i go to trade it in a couple years. Im putting in some Corbeau seats and harnesses, and i was gonna fab my own harness bar to fit where the bolts are, but now im just gonna weld it in above it. I plan on pushing 400 or over, and running at the track i need some extra safety thrown in. Its being done the right safe way, not the thrown in way to look "sweet"

i just went thru this a few months ago. the drive side one came out no problems at all. the pass one i had to heat up really hot and get it that way. it wasent fun. i ended up replacing all the interior plastics on that side of the car.
