Sell my car for an RL

What do you guys think? I love how the RLs look and I could get one with the same or less miles and I would probably gain money out of the deal.

Empty Pockets 08-15-2014 10:06 PM

i like the hhr's better, but hey, its all about personal preference

StevoElSupremo 08-15-2014 10:12 PM

would I?

From a powertrain standpoint? HEEELLLL NO!!

From an aesthetic view? ... I dont really love either TBH I think they're both weird lookin lol

andrewcarr1993 08-16-2014 12:51 AM

I've always had a soft spot for an IRL but could never get a HHR I just can't stand them, just be prepared for it to be slower unless you dump some money into it.

Haven07 08-16-2014 01:18 AM

Could buy the IRL and turbo swap it with the money you save, win win?

overweightcobalt 08-16-2014 08:26 AM

As far as speediness goes, from what I've seen on the google (Which I don't exactly trust) the 0-60 time for the IRL is the same as the HHR if not a tad faster. I know it makes 60 less hp but it is also lighter. I also would use it primarily as a dd, I never go to the track, but I do like to have a little fun sometimes. Due to college eating up my funds I would not be able to dump a bunch of money into a turbo swap, tvs, etc. at the moment.

Well if you like it better than yes why wouldn't you

I think the trees ready to tip but just needs an extra push

Mr Mall Cop 08-16-2014 10:08 AM

Sounds like it ^

ionREDLINEracer 08-16-2014 09:46 PM

I had a Redline for about 9 years, and loved it! I say do it!

serega12 08-16-2014 11:45 PM

Have you considered LNF Saturn Sky?

overweightcobalt 08-18-2014 08:34 AM

Saturn Ion Redline

Found this, it's right by me. Less miles and GMS2. Gonna contact him and see what I can do.

AaronJ 08-18-2014 08:54 AM

Wait, you're going to give up a newer, more practical car (aka more interior space) with a much better powertrain for an older, smaller, 3 door car with an outdated powertrain? That makes absolutely no sense to me :nono:

But I'm just some guy with an opinion

overweightcobalt 08-18-2014 09:06 AM

 yeah that's why I'm so wishy washy it really doesn't make sense. I'll probably just keep my fat ol lnf. Mechanically, shes in perfect condition anyways. It would be stupid to take a risk on another used car that has who knows whats wrong with it.

RL's are quad coupes ie. 4 doors.

Interesting. I for some reason thought only the passenger side had the goofy suicide door like the Veloster does . A quick google search confirms that I was wrong. A 10 year old car and I'm still learning something new every day .

Mr Mall Cop 08-18-2014 09:21 AM

You know you want it so just buy it.

overweightcobalt 08-18-2014 09:23 AM

Haha, you're right. I'm gonna go check that one out tonight after work, then I gotta go see how much I could gfet for my HHR.

Mr Mall Cop 08-18-2014 09:29 AM

You'll be the one driving it so what others think is their opinion, whats important is it is what you want

What do you guys think about the top end being rebuilt and the new trans and clutch?

bmartz1991 08-18-2014 10:02 PM

I like both, but that's a downgrade if you ask me.

overweightcobalt 08-20-2014 01:51 PM

Looked at it in person. Decided my car is sexier anyways. Feel bad now that I thought about selling her. :r:

tuned08ss 08-20-2014 02:07 PM
