Contact TWM via email, they sell a HHR SS adapter that allows you to run aftermarket threaded shift knobs

theyve got a lock mechanism on them so you dont accidentally spin it off when youre shifting. You can buy an adapter that lets you use universal screw on knobs, but without that adapter, they wont thread on.

I had no idea twm made something like this. That's awesome. How hard is it to remove the stock knob?

Just need 2 flathead screwdrivers, and in some case a Torx screw has to be unscrewed under the shift pattern cap (you can pop that off with a flathead as well

Sounds easy, so all you would need is that adapter and then a new shift knob?

Their adapter may or may not work with other aftermarket shift knobs, they keep the thread pitch on the adapter secret

Yeah I had planned on just buying a knob from them, this works fine with the reverse lockout?

TWM knobs are made to work with reverse lockouts, they have an area in the knob to compensate for the RL to slide "into the knob" so to say.

Here's a picture of my TWM knob to explain:

Blurry, but there's the threads in the middle and then the extra gap around it for the reverse lock to slide into, hope that helps

Appreciate the help ^. This may be a dumb question, I know that the TWM knobs were made to work with TWM's sts's reverse lockout, but will it work with the stock one? Isn't the stock one a little misshapen and not perfectly round? Or am I imagining that?

Awesome thanks! That would be awesome if you could just buy an adapter and a new knob rather than pay for the whole sts setup
