SS Supercharged $26,000+????
I have heard people online talking about the pricing of the SS SC...which still isnt offical yet...and they said around $22,000...which is a fair price for the top of the line Cobalt...I was talking to a Chevrolet dealer the other day about it and he said behind the scenes GM is thinking more like $26,000+...I told him no way will they sell that car to the younger tuner crowd that they are aiming at for that price...for a couple more thousand you can step up to an Acura or Honda...I also told him that if thats the final price...most people will buy the base model and fix it up...he then said that GM would probably give rebates to bring the price down...I said they wont because the Cavalier was such a money loser with it's $4000 rebates and GM is making a freash start with Cobalt...so what do you guys think about the price of the SS SC...do you think younger people will be able to buy it or just dream about it?

Welcome to the board
I called my Chevy dealer earlier this week, and they had no clue about anything related to the car. The guy told me they have no price, no expected arrival date or anything else. He did put me on a contact list to contact me as soon as he has more info.
I agree with you, 26,000+ is on the high end and they are not gonna sell at that price. Isn’t the SRT4 only 18,000?

I'm a sales consultant and the "E-commerce Manager" (lol nice title for web guy, eh?) at a GM dealership here in BC. I can confirm that we have absolutely no info yet on the Cobalt other than what can be found on the internet. Our ordering system doesn't even list the Cobalt yet... we can order G6's but not the Cobalt, which is weird as I was under the impression they'd be coming out around the same time. No pricing is available to us on the G6 either, we just checked off options we liked and ordered a few V6 models and some GTs.
I doubt the Cobalt will be US$26K, as I believe the Redline is around $20k.
As soon as I get any ordering or product info I'll let you guys know ASAP!

I would bet you would be seeing top of the line cobalts at $23-24
but GM has to be real careful, mose Dodge dealers can sell the SRT's all day at $21k
and they have no problem knocking a few hundred off the sticker.
Saturn right now is Sitting on a LOT of redlines in stock and my friend at Saturn says Rebates are just around the corner....
They Screwed it up big time.
With the fuel rail scare, oil leaks, clutch issues, a lot of people these days do internet searches when considering a new car and doing internet searches will reveal thse problems, which just leads to people thinking that the ion is just problem prone....
Since they launced it SOOOOO late they should have run it thru the paces a few times and then launched it as a 05 in July/Aug
just my .02!~
but they really needed a killer launch instead it was washed out.
I own a Sunfire GT, a Srt-4 and a 03 Sun fire 1SC and the Srt-4 is the best out of all......
