I've seen this for the last 5 years with this site ..... people yell and scream for a part ..... then when it comes to market , only a handful actually purchase it.

Simple answer, if you can afford it get and lnf (turbo). If not, lsj (supercharged) then go from there.

But why did you revive and old thread??

Because if he doesn't do that, the people of CSS b!tch and complain when they make a new thread, saying: "you should've searched before making new thread, blah blah blah."

People have posted before about an lnf being more reliable and safe for holding more power and it is easier to make more power with just bolt ons. LSJs are older, but can be made into power houses if you're willing to drop money into them. Either way, get one!

LNF definitely responds more to bolt ons, but You will need a tune regardless because of the learn down feature. LNFs also don't run BOV from factory. They run a BPV. A BOV can be ran only through adding an upper charge pipe with a BOV flange and getting a BPV for the turbo and then from there you can run a BOV. You also need necessary tuning to run one without it running like butt.

LSJs can make power from basically any bolt on but to take full advantage of them a tune is still needed.

If you want a decently cheap and fast car, you can always get an LSJ mad cheap and turbo swap it, but it takes a wad of cash and some time to get it good to go.

I was in the same place as you, I went with an LNF. It's a little more pricey but well worth it!

Mine doesn't get overheated or anything really, then again I'm fully bolted and tune so I have most of the issues I could have taken care of. When I was stock, the fan did ususaly come on after a couple pulls or so on the highway and after beating on it for a while. Mine's Imp Blue and I fell in love with the color once I saw it in person. Check out my FCOTM thread to see more pics of it.

They could probably find one for a decent price, but have high mileage. Your best bet to finding one for a reasonable price is to avoid a dealer. Check local ads or check out the Complete Cars for sale in the classifieds part of CSS.NET.

what do you think would need more fixing down the road, LSJ or LNF?

Older cars tend to need more maintenance as they get older. Id say it really all depends in the condition of the car you get.

- The 2.4 was badged SS, because GM knew 205 crank hp from forced induction was just as shitty as 171 NA....
Do you really think an LSJ is 205 Crank? lol

It was underrated from the factory. Actually put out around 230 bhp.

Also, was a full second faster than the 2.4 SS/NA in both the 1/4 mile & 0-60 mph (in stock form).

Do some reading on it.

Yep. Most dyno'd 210-215 whp bone stock.

There were some odd ***** that dyno'd a bit higher.

It's amazing how many people still do not know this about the SS/SC. It's been common knowledge for 8 years.
