Took the SS on a roadtrip last week.
 

The old Lady and I decided to take a trip down to flordia last week. We went down to West Palm Beach then later Key Largo. I clocked about 2,700 miles in the bolt. I Must say a was a little surprised on how enjoyable the ride was. The Cavalier was a nightmare on long trips. After about 2 hours in the Cavie you wanted out. Not the same with the Cobalt. At no point in the trip did I feel uncomfertable. Also. The little hidding hole made is a prefect place to stash your wallet on long trips. Nothing worse then sitting on a wallet for 18 hours.

The Passenger set was a little bit different. Comfertable when awake. But really hard to take a nap in. Cargo space was fine for 2 people. Trunk had enough room for our bags and cameras.(my girlfriend 4x5 and trip pod takes up some good space.) Cooler was on the backseat. Any more than 2 people and we would have been in trouble.

Once we got down to florida the sunroof was nice. Wish there was very option.

Gas milage was also pretty nice. Going through southern IL doing 68 I got 35.9 MPG. Once we got into Tennesse the speed limit went up. I was doing closer to 76 for most of the trip. That and with the hills brought my gas milage down to 34 or so. (Could have got better if I didnt keep the cruise on.) In flordia we hit a lot of stop and go traffic. That and having fun on off ramps brought the total gas mileage to 33.4 for the whole trip.

Next year we are talking the Spec V. We'll see how they compare.

i've taken some nice long drives, a few hundred miles, and had no complaints... like yo usaid, it's good as long as there only 2 people... throw 2 more in the backseat, and it's a no go...

I had a third person once for a 6 hour drive....didint effect me so I could care less,, the passengers were tight but its a coupe!

yeah, I dont give a f*ck about the people in the back, the only people I care about is my comfort and my girlfriend(generaly the person in the passenger seat) lol

It didn't break? God if I take road trips my cruise breaks. It happens so often that I have the ratchet and socket ready to disconnect the battery and let it sit.

36 mpg in a 14 second car FTW

Wouldnt have had room for a cooler if we had someone in the back seat. Which would have meant no MDew for me. Also, we were planning of catching a nice fish and bringing it back. The fish had other plans though.

I took my ss to the orange bowl, two weeks ago in miami.

$300 - In gas
$250 - In hotel rooms
$200 - In country cruise supplies ;)

I've done a few good road trips with mine too; I'll be making my second trip to KC in February.

The car is very comfortable and stable at highway speeds. I've had cars in the past that were tiresome to drive, but not this one.
