I'm surprised your car went that long on the originals. Mine were toast at 30-40k

Talking 35% Tint

Got 35% window tint at around lunch today! Looks great and much better than having the absolutey zero amount of tint that the stock windows have! 1 more thing to scratch off the list

Long overdue. When I bought the car, it had 67K miles on it and they needed to be done then. Just had other priorities

I broke it...

I was waiting at a light to turn left, the light turned yellow and I thought the oncoming traffic had sufficient room to stop, so I went to clear the light. Unfortunately the oncoming traffic felt they could make the light if they gave it just a bit more gas, and I got hit.

I've already been to a body shop and was quoted $2000 to fix it if I supply a donor car to get the new door and quarter.
I'm still waiting on a quote to get the wrap repaired

Car still runs and drives fine, tracks straight and true still. I have a slight vibration at 110km/h when going around a bend. The door won't open.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go ahead and fix it, its just a question of when at this point. I need to find a shell in my area for cheap, which shouldn't be too difficult.

I zip tied it.

Wrap is 3M Satin Pearl White with Gloss Green Envy stripes

Initial cost for the satin pearl white was $2100 Canadian. The shop has since told me that because of the difficulty of the SS front and rear lips and the spoiler, the next Cobalt they do will be closer to $3000.
They have redone the wing, and the lips need to be redone, but I may get new ones first.

There are more pics of it a few pages back in this thread (pg 558)

Even wrecked the body shop I went to at first thought it was paint.
I'm surprised how intact the vinyl stayed in the collision

If the wrap costs that much how much is it for an actual paint job? I've never priced one out but I assumed it would be around $3,000 US.

Really depends on the paint you go with but that's around what my insurance paid to have my car painted plus repairs of course

The cheapest quote I got for standard pearl white paint was $4000. That was leaving windows in, masking around them. Other quotes I got ranged from $8-10,000 for pearl white.
The body shops I went to said they couldn't paint satin pearl white. I went to an auto body supply store and asked about the paint, the only "satin" paint they had was black, and it was $800 a pint (need roughly a gallon for a full car), and he hadn't seen satin pearl paints.

Interesting... I may have to look into that in the future.

Hind sight always being 20/20...
The wrap isn't permanent. Its only been on the car since July and it is already showing signs of wear and tear. I've got stone chips in the vinyl in places you wouldn't normally expect to see a stone chip unless someone spun gravel at your car. There is also a tiny little nick on the trunk lid where my fingernail caught the vinyl, its that sensitive. And then there are the seems, because of the complexity of the spoiler, bumpers and the lips they are all covered in seems.
I would not wrap a whole car again

When I get this repair done I MAY get a price on getting the whole car done in that subaru color.
Interesting that the body shops didn't know of its existence, maybe its just too new for any cars with it to of come in yet...

its satin lol. it looks just like his car.

I guess if you think satin means no clearcoat, then yes that would be satin. glossy white would be like the LNF white

There is a huge difference between Satin and Gloss, I'll try to get a pic of my car next to my friends pearl white regal GS this weekend.

That 37J is a tri-coat, meaning it probably has a special satin clear coat on it.

I've got a few subie friends locally, I may try to find a car with that paint on it to compare to my wrap.

That is definitely satin, see how it makes the body lines pop? gloss tends to mask those lines.

But, it is also much "whiter" than mine. Mine is more of a creamy color.

The sun halo area def looks satin, but the hood where the sun halo isn't lighting up looks gloss

Found instant cure to hard shifting

Did hours of research and know I need to have it checked to see what is wrong with a sensor but if you lift the emergency brake just a little the car will shift normal. On the first notch the alarm warning went of so I lift it as much as it will go without hitting the first notch and it still shifts good.
